The Moulin Rouge comes to Bali as The Iron Fairies launches La Joia Cabaret, a new bi-weekly performance showcase.
Time for a little history lesson so settle down and listen up. Cabaret traces its origins back to France in the golden 1880s. Small restaurants would centre their tables around a stage on which a range of amateur acts would take place, guided by a grand master of ceremonies. It was typically brutish and coarse entertainment, aimed at thumbing French noses at the conventions of bourgeois society while giving the working man a little visual respite at the end of a long day working the lines at the croissant factory.

One particular venue – the iconic Moulin Rouge in Paris – rose to notoriety with its glamorous and flirtatious dances (it’s where the Cancan was first performed), leading to similar spectacles being found across the world.
Channeling the spirit of cabaret, The Iron Fairies Bali has launched La Joia Cabaret, presented by the illustrious Parisian artistic and entertainment production house RêvARTe. Held every two weeks on Thursday nights at 8:30 pm, the island’s only thematic nightclub with live performances transforms into a fantasy land of seduction and glitz, combined with decadent cocktails and a specially curated set menu – your fair lady’s going to love it.

Founded in 2019, RêvARTe has been crafting extravagant entertainment around the world for luxury brands such as D&G, Moet & Chandon and Four Seasons. Its first foray into Asia, the troupe’s performances at The Iron Fairies redefine the cabaret experience, blending high-level performance with couture visuals to create an elegant, and sensual showcase of 10 performances.
The captivating host, soulful singer, and four exquisite dancers transport viewers through a whirlwind of emotions and stories, from the ethereal Dunia, which channels the primal rhythms of nature and raw feminine energy, to the enigmatic Femme Fatale, a sensual exploration of shadows and silhouettes.
The music, the costumes, the voices and all those oh-so-long legs, you’ll think you’ve died and gone to chorus line heaven. Tickets starts from HK$125 with the set menu a princely HK$375 per person.
Much cheaper than a flight to the City of Light.
