Bali’s Da Maria launches an exciting new dinner series that whisks diners through the most iconic culinary regions of Italy.
If you were looking for an excuse to jump a jet plane and head to Indonesia’s Island of the Gods (and we can think of one or two compelling reasons why you might like to) here’s another: captivating, hot-as-lava restaurant-cum-late-night entertainment destination Da Maria is launching an Italian dinner series.
For the last eight years, Da Maria has established itself as one of Bali’s most stylish Italian eateries, although it’s as popular for its nightlife scene, which attracts the island’s local and visiting beauties in the droves, as it is for its pizza and pasta.

With a decor inspired by the island of Capri, the venue’s menu focuses on the most revered dishes from the tip to the toe of the Italian boot, complemented by some of the island’s best cocktails.

Executive chef Lorenzo DePetris, who helms Da Maria, as well as other hotspots Luigis and Berawa’s Mosto, has spent the last two years building on the existing menu while refining and adding his personal touches.

The chef,, a Piemonte native, cut his culinary teeth at two Michelin-starred Sicilian icon Restaurant Duomo, where he discovered a different style of cooking and new ingredients, giving birth to a passion for Italian regional cuisine that has inspired the new dinner series.

Launching in November, the series takes hungry diners on a culinary journey through some of DePetris’ favourite regions of Italy. Keeping with Da Maria’s stunning style and personality, the one-off dinners, starting and finishing with two distinct islands – Sicily and Sardinia – will introduce both firm favourites and lesser known dishes that define six very different regions of Italy, each of which has a personal connection for the chef.

Running until April 2024, each dinner will feature a set menu for two or more guests and kicks off with Sicilia ( Nov 7), before moving on to Piemonte (Dec 12); Liguria (Jan 16); Marche (Feb 6); and Lazio (March 5), before ending in Sardegna (April 9).
Come for the cuisine, stay for the nightlife.
