If you happened to be headed to Indonesia’s vibrant capital and wanted to know where to find the city’s glamour set in attendance, we just might have directions for you: Introducing Hakkasan Jakarta.
With restaurants in 11 international cities, Hakkasan is set to open its twelfth location in Jakarta, its first in Southeast Asia, in early February. Located overlooking the Indonesia Stock Exchange and Pacific Place in the heart of SCBD, Jakarta’s vibrant financial hub, the new eatery occupies a prime position on the 25th and 26th floor of the contemporary luxury Alila SCBD Jakarta hotel, which is nothing if not convenient.
With inspiring decor by GBRH Interior Design that include intricately carved latticework and subtle ambient lighting that echo the glamorous interiors of the original Michelin-starred London restaurants in both Hanway Place and Mayfair, the new Jakarta venue is wrapped around a central kitchen, where skilled wok chefs prepare signature dishes like stir-fry black pepper rib-eye beef with
Of course, like many modern restaurants, there’s a bar that can proudly stand on its own feet. Be sure to pop in for the likes of the Hakkatini, which blends orange oil-washed Ketel One vodka and brandied orange liqueur with Campari and cloudy apple juice; or the Corn & Pepper, with Bulleit Bourbon, Brem wine, Szechuan peppercorn shrub and aromatic bitters, both of which are best enjoyed on the restaurant’s outdoor terrace, where some of the city’s best DJs are slated to perform.
Maybe it’s time to give Jakarta its due.
