Looking to burn some cash? How about a once-in-a-lifetime record-breaking glider flight with Untold Story Travel?
So you’ve been reviewing your crypto accounts and calculating all that you’ve saved being a Boring Dave through the pandemic. We get you. However, when the time comes to break free, you’ll want to do it in style, and, depending on just how talented your day trading has been, this might be the adventure for you.
Untold Story Travel is offering one lucky soul a chance to become a world record holder during a ground-breaking glider flight over all eight highest peaks of the Himalayas as part of a four-week itinerary priced at €1million (US$1.17 million).
You’ll take this breathtaking flight with Klaus Ohlmann, a master of riding the jet stream and holder of more than 60 world records, including the longest glider flight ever at an uninterrupted 3,009 km, as well as being the first person to fly over Mount Everest in a glider.

Holder of the record for fastest ever speed reached in a glider – that’s an impressive 307km/ph – which remains unbroken in a decade, Ohlmann has perfected the art of ‘wave riding’ in a glider, catching updrafts in the jet stream in order to gain altitude and fly long distances.
The flight over the eight peaks over 8,000 metres will follow an intensive training period in Nepal that includes a programme of physical checks, training and practice flights. However, it won’t all be hard work, with time set aside to explore historic Unesco and Buddhist sites, the artisan city of Patan, the island temple of Barahi, and Chitwan National Park, the first national park of the Kingdom and home to the one-horned Indian Rhinoceros.

Soaring from Daulaghiri to Kanchenjunga, this challenging flight will combat the Himalaya’s demanding winds, which reach up to 200km/ph, over six to 10 hours, with the custom-built glider (which features highly specialised oxygen systems allowing flight over 10,000 metres) soaring at speeds of up to 400km/ph.
A second glider will film the entire experience, which is available within a four-week window between November and December 2021 and January and February or November and December 2022, and the client will be presented with a video of the entire journey in Nepal upon completion. In addition, five percent of the fee will go to fund Nepalhilife Beilngries, which supports local communities.
Be sure to wave as you soar overhead.
