ATTIKO and A La Folie, a duo of seductive new rooftop spots, have opened at the heart of Bali’s vibrant Berawa.
Whether its a sun-kissed day, or a balmy Balinese evening, there’s nothing better than an alfresco meal, a swim, a little sun worshipping, and a few drinks with a view, and the island’s newest chic rooftop venues, ATTIKO and A La Folie, know just how to keep the party going into the wee hours.
The newest creations of Dubai’s Sunset Hospitality Group, which recently opened Latin American restaurant Santana, and intimate speakeasy Mamasita, ATTIKO and A La Folie offer two different takes on the rooftop experience, one an elegant, sun-kissed French restaurant-cum-day club, and the other a lofty high-energy destination that transitions through the day from elegant rooftop lounge to alfresco club.
A La Folie is more than just another sparkle on Bali’s lively beach scene; named after the French word for ‘madness’, the new venue masterfully fuses fun and refinement with its culinary delights, all in a vibrant poolside locale that’s a bold statement in the Bali beach club scene.
In addition to basking by a stunning pool, which is flaked by cabanas and sun loungers, and soaking in spectacular Indian Ocean views, you’ll come here to indulge in the restaurant’s exceptional French-Mediterranean cuisine of head chef Jules Winckler, and to unwind in the lounge bar.

Also look out for the brilliant Le Tiradito, thinly sliced sea bass marinated in citrus, garnished with red onion, and paired with crispy corn; and classic steak frites, a 300gr grilled black Angus ribeye served with a side of mixed leaves, hand-cut chips, confit tomatoes, and a rich bearnaise sauce.
Be sure to ask restaurant manager Florian Dabezies for his recommendations from the rooftop’s summer-inspired cocktail list before taking your poolside perch in time for spinning DJs and live music.
With a throughly contemporary design persona, ATTIKO, located on the same rooftop, makes the most of the island’s tropical weather with spectacular sea views, inspired cocktails, and a menu of innovative pan-Asian dishes, ranging from addictive Wagyu beef and foie gras gyozas to yellowtail tacos with avocado and ginger soy; crispy shrimp with chilli mayo, lime, and shichimi; spicy lamb chops with chilli garlic sauce and sesame; and Beef Tataki served with a truffle yuzu sauce and garnished with fresh truffle.
The venue also features a range of delectable sushi, including marinated Hokkaido scallop rolls with avocado, mango and jalapeño, and topped with a zesty hint of lime, spicy chili oil, and basil oil.
While ATTIKO is still finding its vibe, with some of the dishes of the brand-new lounge a little hit-and-miss (you can always dine at A La Folie first, where every dish is a winner), there’s no doubting the energy of this new addition (those looking for a serve Balinese moment need not apply), with resident and visiting DJs spinning up a frenzy and the bar team shaking up a storm behind the mahogany – you have to try the Caviar Toro-Pikaro, a heady blend of rum, hibiscus, wasabi, orgeat, and tropical fruit.
Come early for a dip in the beautiful infinity pool (open to A La Folie guests until 7pm), sate your appetite at either venue, and then be prepared to party the night away with the beautiful people of Berawa.
