Sound aficionado brand Bang & Olufsen has launched new takes on its powerful portable speaker Beosound A5 and compact Beosound Emerge bookshelf speaker.
It’s interesting to see how home speakers have evolved with the innovations in technology and design. Once huge, imposing additions to any living room, today’s luxury speakers are subtle yet eye-catching works of art and technology, promising sumptuous sound as well as a look that accentuates a space.

Bang & Olufsen’s newest creations are case in point. The Danish high-end consumer electronics company has expanded its home speaker range with the addition of the portable Beosound A5, now in Spaced Aluminium, and the Beosound Emerge, now in Black Anthracite.
Together with the elegant Beosound 2 3rd Generation in Black Anthracite, the three speakers champion Bang & Olufsen’s approach to pushing boundaries of both audio quality and home decor.
Spaced Aluminium joins the existing portfolio of Beosound A5 finishes – Nordic Weave and Dark Oak. The Beosound A5, which launched in April, was designed to be a canvas for aesthetic exploration and the new Spaced Aluminium edition feels graphic, contrasting and technical. Made from more than 3500 aluminium discs that seem to float at the front of the speaker, the new edition adds a sculptural dynamic to your living room, den or office.

However, thanks to an IP65 water and dustproof rating, the Beosound A5 can also be taken outside and on any adventure, and offers more than 12 hours of playtime as well as wireless phone charger integrated into the top panel of the speaker. You’ll also benefit from the new software update that unlocks new features through Bang & Olufsen’s future-gazing software platform, Mozart, including Automatic Stereo Pairing.
In contrast, the Beosound Emerge, designed by Benjamin Hubert of Design Agency LAYER, is a home speaker with a slim silhouette that delivers rich and powerful sound experiences and is now relaunched in a high-grade aluminium Black Anthracite finish with a pearl-blasted grill.

The polymer side panels feature a vertical corrugated pattern that accentuates the slim lines of the speaker, which boasts a revolutionary driver configuration, a side-firing woofer and built-in active room compensation technology that customises the sound design for the placement of speaker in the room.
Finally, the big boy, the Beosound 2 3rd Generation in Black Anthracite is a powerful multiroom speaker that matches a unique high-design aesthetic with stand-out sound. The new generation Beosound 2 in Black Anthracite, with its iconic cone shape, is crafted from high-grade aluminium and commands attention no matter where it’s placed in the room.

The classic Black Anthracite finish is matched with an improved user interface and the addition of Active Room Compensation, meaning the Beosound 2 can detect its position in any space and distribute sound accordingly.
