Acclaimed for its year-round terrace and simplistic yet elegant approach to European cuisine, The Continental returns to Hong Kong’s Pacific Place.
Outdoor spaces can be a little tricky to find in Hong Kong, a city’s that’s more focused on climbing to the heavens rather than stretching out under the stars. However, one spot that’s always been popular with after-work happy hour clans and weekend brunchers is The Continental, home to an all-year terrace wreathed and elegant Continental European fare.

Now, this iconic eatery returns, under the management of the adjacent Upper House hotel, with a sophisticated new design by Natasha Usher of Nude Design and a new classically influenced menu by Executive Chef Graham Long.
From date night drinks and small bites from the striking new bar through to brunches, business lunches, and à la carte dinners, the restaurant’s regulars will be drawn back by Graham’s light, modern French cuisine – with features hints of the UK and Asia – developed over 20 years working in some of the world’s best kitchens, including London’s Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Pied à Terre, and Elystan Street.

Look out for lunch menus packed with the likes of burrata, with confit fennel, peach, and basil; pan-fried white bream with a warm salad of green beans and lemon butter; and the flavour-packed Merguez Sausage Flatbread with cashew hummus, charred onions, and chilli jam.
The new a la carte menu also features signatures like heirloom tomatoes served with goat’s curd; Australian lamb loin with smoked aubergine; steaks finished in the popular Josper Grill; and Basque cheesecake with poached cherries, all enjoyed in the main dining room, now dressed in rust-red leather, dark chocolate, and polished white marble, or on the terrace.

Already one of the city’s foremost alfresco dining spots, the lush tropical garden terrace will feature impressive large umbrellas to allow diners to kick back, eat and drink in comfort, whatever the time of year. The redesigned bar will craft impeccable cocktails such as The Continental’s signature Martini and Bloody Mary, while sommelier Arthur Aronov has curated a wide-ranging and accessible wine programme.
Because there’s nothing like the great outdoors.
