Looking for a timepiece that not only captures attention but also markets some pretty important milestones? The Tag Heuer x The Hour Glass Anniversary Monaco might be what you seek.
Half a century is a pretty long time, so doing something well for 50 years is worthy of a celebration in our book. Watch brand Tag Heuer has been making its iconic Monaco timepiece for that long, and so, in celebration of this brilliant milestone, the company is releasing a series of limited-edition models.
The fourth such release, the Tag Heuer x The Hour Glass Anniversary Monaco continues the watch brand’s relationship with luxury watch retailer The Hour Glass, which, coincidentally, is also celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
Unlike the previous releases, in their bold red and blue hues, the new timepiece is constructed with black PVD steel that, in a homage to the Heuer Monaco ‘Dark Lord’ from the 1970s, is completely blacked out, save for a champagne-toned dial.
This elegant square dial, set beneath a crystal dome, also features polished steel hour and minute hands tipped in black, as well as a black-framed date window. Less insidious as the Dark Lord, the new timepiece is both contemporary and stylish, with a distinctive vintage vibe that’s bolstered by the dial colouring as well as the old school Monaco Automatic Chronograph logo at 12 and 6 o’clock.
The Tag Heuer x The Hour Glass Anniversary Monaco comes with a black perforated calfskin strap with PVD steel clasp, ensuring a design that’s sure to last another half-century.
