SEVVA, one of Hong Kong’s sexiest dining destinations, has reopened with new drinks, new dishes and a new take on its signature larger-than-life decor.
Everyone has a place in Hong Kong that they take visiting friends and family, somewhere that will impress the pants off them, display the city’s vitality and sophistication, and captures the magic of the harbour and the thrill of the evening light show. If that spot wasn’t previously SEVVA, it will be now that the iconic Princes Building venue has emerged from an extensive renovation.
The creation of founder Bonnae Gokson, SEVVA is an oasis high above the city. Famed for its sprawling wraparound terrace, with its views of the harbour and HSBC building, as well as its magnificent Harbourside dining room, SEVVA has been the home of Hong Kong’s belles personnes for a decade and now, with the addition of new flooring, the creation of new lounge spaces, a revitalized cocktail bar, and a spectacular new look in the dining room, the 22,000sqft hotspot will continue to draw the city’s powerbrokers.
We know you’ll naturally be drawn to the terrace, the it place during the city’s balmy summers, but as the mercury drops you might want to retreat indoors to Harbourside, where a kaleidoscopic floral dome of silk flowers and coloured crystal chandeliers, inspired by the works of American artist Nick Cave and created by Gokson and British floral master Phillip Corps, await.
The acclaimed East-meets-West menu by Australian chef Chase Kojima has also been injected with new inspiration, and now includes extensive vegetarian options as well as new additions like wok-fried Boston lobster with aka miso, nori butter, wakame and kombu; Taiwanese beef noodle soup; ox tongue pot pie; and the city’s best dosas. If you’re looking for a date destination, this is certainly it.
The Taste Bar, SEVVA’s cocktail destination, has also been reconfigured and enlarged, and now lends itself to intimate private events. The cocktail menu has also been given a revamp, with a huge selection of classic libations (SEVVA does some of Hong Kong’s best martinis) joining imaginative seasonal concoctions.
Maybe it’s time you played tourist in your own town?
