With interiors inspired by the private jet industry, cutting-edge navigation technology, and market-leading maneuverability, the Neyk Submarine is the ultimate ride for would-be Captain Nemos.
The first personal submarine to feature luxurious interiors, the Neyk Submarine by Ocean Submarines will be launched at the company’s state-of-the-art facility in the Netherlands next January after eight years of research and development.

The perfect accompaniment to a private superyacht, the Neyk features design DNA derived from NASA, Bosch, and Rolls-Royce; catering for a dozen guests and able to travel at up to 15-knots to depths of 150-meters, the Neyk takes personal submarines to the next level.
Boasting large panoramic viewports on top and three acrylic viewports on either side, the teardrop-shaped vessel, available in 19, 20, 22 and 24-meter models, has a displacement of 100-tonnes, ensuring plenty of subaquatic entertainment space, including lounge seats, a bar, and a library.
Developed in collaboration with the Royal Netherlands Navy and powered by virtually silent electric engines, positioned in pods outside the pressurized hull, the Neyk features an unprecedented level of maneuverability, including being able to spin in place.

“My experiences [working with the likes of ASML, Phillips and EASTEC] convinced me that we could develop a unique new submarine in partnership with experts from every branch of aviation and underwater vessels,” says Martin van Eijk, founder of Ocean Submarine.
“The project began in 2009, based on a hull that would be suitable for the navy and coastguard services as well as the luxury market. Having built up considerable expertise in aircraft, spaceships and underwater vessels, my goal was to combine this with the wealth of know-how available in the world today. The result is a new generation of submarines featuring a single multipurpose hull, offering a unique level of luxury and experience in a submarine.”
In addition to performance, the Neyk also benefits from the giant strides made in building bespoke private jets in recent years. The hull diameter resembles that of many private jet models and the submarine’s contents, including systems such as air conditioning, can be installed in a similar way, allowing for spacious, fully-customisable interiors. A modular construction approach allows owners to dictate how the inside of the sub looks, from classic aquatic to ultra-modern – the sub can even mirror the interiors of its mother ship.

Additional customisation options include fitting landing gear so that the sub can come to rest on a beach; adding a dedicated diver lockout chamber; and transforming the nose area into a 270-degree underwater observation room.
“It’s all about the experience,” adds Van Eijk. “Now, when you cruise along the coastline in your yacht and see a beautiful geographical feature, you can head underwater to see it from an entirely different perspective. Alternatively, you might go diving to look at wrecks from the Second World War or other treasures hidden in the sea. The Neyk Submarine allows people to explore the ocean world in comfort and in style.”
