Founded by chef Mili Hendratno, Mil’s Kitchen delivers a modern Indonesian dining heritage, one that engages all the senses, while tapping into Hendratno’s extensive gastronomic experience.
Mil’s Kitchen was first opened in Yogyakarta in 2020 as a humble, private eatery located at the chef’s home. A year later, the chef fulfilled his dream of opening a proper restaurant in Sleman, Yogyakarta.
At the new Bali eatery, Hendratno will be aided by chef Daniel Edward, a force to be reckoned with in Indonesia’s culinary scene and one known for his finesse in creating new, contemporary combinations and experimenting with a plethora of flavours.
The elegant venue boasts indoor, air-conditioned and outdoor dining spaces, the latter featuring ornate gardens ideal for travellers looking to make the most of Bali’s balmy evenings.

Kick off with innovative cocktails from the restaurant’s extensive list. Highlights include chef Mili’s favourite drink, Canggu oh Canggu, a refreshing combination of rum, Aperol, pineapple, lemon oleo, and lemongrass foam that’s guaranteed to help beat the heat.
From there you can delve into the dinner menu, which features baked bone marrow; Wagyu beef cheek with peanut aioli, Kecombrang (ginger flower), tomato relish, and grilled sourdough; Gohu Ikan Gendar, with tuna, salmon, shallots, chilli, Kemangi (lemon basil), and rice crackers; and (our favourite) US Beef Short Ribs Bourguignon “Rawon” with braised beef, king oyster mushroom, Hasselback potato, black cardamom au jus, and charred broccoli.
Be sure to leave room for the likes of Cendol Panna Cotta, made with young coconut, green pandan cream, jackfruit compote namelaka, and coconut ice cream.
