A stickler for antiquity, Casa Herradura continues to use traditional methods to produce its range of world-class tequilas, from slow cooking mature agave hearts, harvested by specialist agave farmers called jimadores, in traditional clay ovens, to using natural fermentation, with wild, airborne yeast created by the surrounding orchards and agave plantations.
The spirit is twice distilled before being aged to perfection in American white oak barrels. The results of this commitment to authenticity and excellence have earned Casa Herradura numerous accolades and awards.

In fact, Casa Herradura’s history has always been a balance of respect for traditional production processes and industry-leading innovation. Renowned for being the tequila industry’s foremost innovator for more than five generations, Casa Herradura is credited with the introduction of the world’s first-ever reposado and extra-añejo tequilas in 1974 and 1995, respectively.
Casa Herradura integrates sustainable practices in many facets of the tequila production process to reduce its environmental footprint. These include a multi-million dollar state-of-the-art water treatment plant, a composting plant, agave nurseries and greenhouses.
In addition to being an environmental steward, for the past 146 years, Casa Herradura has invested in projects that promote social and economic growth in the community of Amatitán and the state of Jalisco.

Casa Herradura produces four tequila styles, each with their own distinct personality:
Herradura Silver is crafted with 100 percent blue agave, and is aged in American white oak for 45 days. With a light straw hue and herbal aroma, followed by vanilla and touches of oak on the palate, it’s perfect for classic tequila cocktails.
Herradura Reposado was an industry first and is aged in white oak for 11 months to produce hints of anise, fruit and spices, and a smooth, sweet brown spice finish.

Herradura Añejo is aged for two years to ensure a dark copper hue, and an intense agave aroma, followed by toasted oak and dried fruit on the nose, and a slightly sweet finish.
For the ultimate tequila experience, Herradura Extra Añejo is another industry first. This Selección Suprema is aged in American white oak barrels for four years, and boasts spiciness and floral notes on the nose, with a complex, rich vanilla and dried fruit palate and long, smooth finish.
