From this month, customers seated in AA’s long-haul international and transcontinental First or Business class and Premium Economy will enjoy a suite of advanced sleep offerings, ranging from a mattress pad, duvet, and pillow, to new day blankets, lumbar pillows, pajamas, and even slippers (although the exact offering varies from route to route).
The team at Casper studied the travel environment of long-haul flights for months to better understand the challenges of in-flight sleep and have applied their expertise in sleep research and sleep science to design innovative products exclusively for American Airlines.
Inspired by performance outerwear, Casper’s signature onboard duvet has been created to provide comfort at all altitudes, thanks to sewn-through seams that create small, rectangular chambers for a consistent fill distribution, ensuring the duvet stays fluffy and in place.

American put these designs to the test with customers on some of its longest flights, including Los Angeles to Auckland, New Zealand. The airline also tapped the expertise of some of its most frequent travellers, its flight attendants, for advice on fit, durability, and comfort. Casper products will be available on select US domestic routes in addition to traditional long-haul international and transcontinental routes.
