Musing on the idea of a weekend in Bangkok to mark the end of winter and the start of glorious spring? Your visit will be perfectly timed for the opening of the Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River, the city’s new luxury urban retreat.
Set to fling open its doors in February, the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River promises to be your new playground thanks to striking architecture by Jean-Michel Gathy that combines cascading buildings with courtyards, terraces, and water features, all set on a whopping 3.6-hectares riverside location.
Your guest room or suite, one of 299, will be a sublimely residential space, complete with bespoke furniture, cavernous bathrooms, and breathtaking river views through floor-to-ceiling windows. If you’re playing baller for the weekend you might want to opt for one of the suites with its own garden terrace or even the two-story Presidential Suite.
Of course, this is Bangkok, a regional culinary capital and the new hotel will offer a host of dining and drinking experiences. We’re most excited about BKK Social Club; helmed by mixologist Philip Bischoff the venue promises to herald a new era in Asia’s high energy bar scene with innovative cocktails laced with locally sourced ingredients, as well as rare spirits, punch bowl drinks – perfect for sharing with new-found friends – and a menu of Latin-inspired bites.
You’ll also find high style Cantonese (not that kind of high) led by Michelin-starred chef Qui Xiaogu at Yu Ting Yuan; alfresco dining by executive chef Riva del Fiume, where Executive Chef Andrea Accordi’s creativity takes centre stage both indoors and al fresco on three terraces; Brasserie Palmier for tropical French cuisine in a lively setting; The Lounge for the Hotel’s signature afternoon tea as well as casual dining and drinks; and Café Madeleine, a neighbourhood-style pastry shop for sweet treats, classic French bread and brewed beverages; as well as chairside refreshments between the Hotel’s two infinity pools, and 24/7 in-room dining.
The hotel will also boast a luxury spa and comprehensive fitness centre, so you can soothe the soul and exercise off some of that sin before you head home.
