Swiss luxury watchmaker Vacheron Constantin stole the show at this year’s coveted Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), an annual showcase of luxury watchmaking held in Geneva, with its one-of-a-kind Les Cabinotiers Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication 3600, possibly the brand’s most complicated wristwatch ever, and one that comes with a price tag of US$1 million.

The epitome of the ultra-luxury astronomical watch, and the result of five painstaking years of research and development, this unique, double-sided, manual-wind timepiece features a new 514-part 64-jewel integrated movement boasting 23 horological complications, including a perpetual calendar, day/night indication, moon phase, day length, and zodiac sign, all of which is nestled in a striking 45mm 18-karat white gold case.
With three time modes – civil, solar and sidereal – this stunning timepiece also features a celestial chart of the northern hemisphere, including indications of the Milky Way. A total of 15 functions are accessible via the main dial, with a further 8 visible on the reverse dial, home to an elegant tourbillon escarpment.
