Looking to shrug off the rain of spring and get your summer started? There’s a booze-soaked brunch in Hong Kong we think you need to know about. Inspired by Catalonian culinary traditions and located at the IFC Mall, La Rambla‘s new Sunday brunch experience pairs authentic Spanish dishes with world-class champagne, al fresco dining and a resident DJ.
Perfect for adding a little celebration to your life, the Sunday En La Boqueria brunch by Chef Ferran Tadeo (HK$550 + 10%) captures the vibrant flavours of Barcelona’s famous food market, La Boqueria, through a vast array of tapas, meats and seafood offerings – think jamón ibérico, Spanish cheeses and Catalan versions of ensaladas, coques and tostadas. At the egg station, fresh Japanese eggs are used to create classic Spanish breakfast dishes including Broken Eggs with Chorizo and slow-cooked egg with potato foam.
Tapas, featuring some of La Rambla’s most beloved classics, will be served straight to the table and include Bikini, a jamón-and-cheese grilled toastie layered with black truffle; Jamón Croquetas, croquettes of creamy béchamel and savoury Iberico ham; and Bombas De La Barceloneta. Meat lovers should not miss the Josper Grill specials, which are cooked over charcoal.
Paellas will also be made to order, and range from Classic, with pork belly, calamari and clams; and Squid Ink Paella with clams, calamari and Catalan-style arroz negro; to Vegetarian Paella with grilled green asparagus, seasonal vegetables and Catalan-style arroz a banda. Other highlights include Traditional Suckling Pig “Segovian Style”; Josper Charcoal Grilled Turbot with a scrumptious donostiarra sauce; and Wagyu Beef Cheek cooked “Fricando Style” braised in red wine and served with crispy shoestring potatoes.
Opt for the ‘Good Open Bar’ (HK$350), which includes unlimited cocktail classics such as Sangria, Chased-Oak Smoked Bloody Mary, and Veuve Clicquot Brut, or really impress with the ‘Great Open Bar’ (HK$1,300), which includes among other premium choices, free-flowing Belvedere, Monkey 47, Patron, and Krug Grande Cuvée NV.
