The newest addition to Glenmorangie’s Bond House No. 1 collection pays homage to the distillery’s former Still House.
Single malt gurus Glenmorangie has unveiled the Grand Vintage Malt 1989, a rare elixir for whisky connoisseurs and collectors alike. Part-matured in ex-Côte-Rôtie casks from aged spirit from the distillery’s former still house, the Bond House No.1 collection is a series of rare vintage expressions, marked for greatness from their origin years.

Each expression in the collection is captured in its prime by the whisky house’s skilful distillers, and deemed ready to share, only at their behest. Thye collections newest addition, the Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1989 begins with some of the last spirit ever to emerge from the distillery’s former still house, once home to Scotland’s tallest stills. Soon after the expression’s spirit was distilled, Glenmorangie’s signature stills were moved from this venerable, yet modest-sized building, signalling the end of an era – until now.

Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1989 is the second release in Bond House No. 1 collection and has finished in a handful of highly sought-after casks, including superior ex-wine casks, the finest ex-Oloroso sherry casks, and superior ex-bourbon casks. Yet most prestigious of all was a parcel extra-matured in casks which once had contained Côte-Rôtie wines.
