Hublot and Dr Samuel Ross, founder and creative director of A-COLD-WALL, reunite with a bold new take on the creative director’s Big Bang Tourbillion.
A watch brand known for pushing new boundaries in terms of materials, fusion and aesthetics, Hublot has been championing the arts for more than 10 years, working closely with daring, unconventional artists and designers to envision watches from new creative angles. The watchmaker’s collaboration with Ross began in 2020, in a three-year engineering process leading to an entirely new development: the Big Bang Tourbillon SR_A by Samuel Ross.

Through founding both A-Cold-Wall in 2015, and SR_A in 2019, Dr Ross has pioneered a signature design language that has translated to immersive, radical collaborations, developing and establishing a global cult audience, through multi-year design partnerships with Beats, Nike, Timberland, Converse Dr. Martens, Mackintosh, RideCake, Absolut, Acqua Di Parma and Hublot.
Just as with his work for A-COLD-WALL, Ross’s creativity is constantly shaping, reshaping, and improving his own thoughts. To assert the new iteration’s industrial look, Ross has dressed the watch case and components in shiny micro-blasted titanium, extending this to the clasp which also features a rough laser engraving of the Hublot logo.

To enhance the overall grey monochrome look, the crown is over-moulded in grey rubber, while the tourbillon bridge now appears in a neutral shade, enabling the watch to be easily paired with one of the three smooth full rubber straps in black, white or the pop vibes of vivid green.
With the timepiece’s hexagonal honeycomb shape and its perfect six equal sides, Ross has chosen the dominant governing pattern in the natural world recalling the functionality of a watch that’s durable, ergonomic and incredibly lightweight. Transposing this sacred geometry of nature into the watch, Ross has envisioned titanium plates that are polished, brushed, hammered and perforated in order to create a lean and imposing silhouette.

The Big Bang Tourbillon SR_A by Samuel Ross is driven by the accuracy and technical design of the 282-component Manufacture HUB6035 caliber beating at 3 Hz during its 72-hour power reserve. Just like the first release, this new iteration is produced in a 50-piece limited edition.
