The Nike AlphaDunk Prepares for Take-Off

If you’ve ever wanted to be like Mike or dunk like Shaq, here’s your chance. The all-new Nike AlphaDunk has been created to give you an airborne edge on the basketball court.

It takes a lot to be able to dunk, but the most important is the ability to reach the hoop which sits 10 feet off the ground. NBA players have a serious advantage with their taller-than-average build, but if your head doesn’t quite get over six feet like James Harden and Steph Curry, the Nike AlphaDunk will be your best friend on the court.

Nike first innovated basketball kicks in 2008 with the release of its Hyperdunk line, and the all-new AlphaDunks builds on the design and technical prowess of its predecessor.

The soles of the shoes incorporate a visible Nike Zoom Air unit, which positions athletes as far as possible off the ground to generate push and ensure engagement throughout takeoff when jumping.

The top of the AlphaDunks incorporate Nike’s re-engineered Flyknit construction to provide a flexible, second-skin fit while the solid ankle structure and lacing construction ensure the shoes fit like a glove. Together, these elements harness all the physical power of a jump launch, meaning you’ll get more air than in your average pair of kicks.

You will actually have to get the ball through the rim yourself, though.
