In this age of epidemics, self-isolation, and uncertainty, at least you can have a Morton’s steak, even if you need to cook it yourself.
We bet you’ve never spent quite so much time in your own kitchen. Unless you’re a gourmand, many of us rarely venture past the fridge and wouldn’t know a saucepan from a sous vide machine. Well, now you have an excuse to break with the stereotype thanks to your favourite Tsim Sha Tsui steakhouse.
Hong Kong’s Morton’s The Steakhouse, which is technically closed to dine-in guests, launches its prepare-at-home menu on April 13, meaning you can pick up the essentials from the restaurant and whip up a delectable rib eye for you and someone special in the comfort of your safe place.

The Table for Two (HK$658) package features two 6oz pieces of center-cut Filet Mignon plus a duo of 5oz cold water lobster tails. Side options include health-forward grilled jumbo asparagus or comforting mashed potatoes, while those who wish to indulge can opt for bacon and onion macaroni and cheese, now available in a ready-to-bake format. Finish off with double chocolate mousse with fresh whipped cream and berries.
If you and your femme du jour (or even your wingman for that matter) prefer to dine sharing-style, swap out those fillets for a 16oz center-cut prime ribeye (HK$608 including side and dessert).
During this time of social distancing, you might want to even go for the larger packs and keep the ingredients in the fridge. Priced at HK$1388, the four-to-five person set includes two Filet Mignon steaks, one prime ribeye, one 10oz prime New York strip, two lobster tails, your choice of two sides and, of course, dessert.
