Custom-designed by Inca Rail, the 360° Machu Picchu Train service consists of two sets of three new carriages, carrying up to 248 passengers a day on two routes between Poroy and Machu Picchu, and between Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu.
Along the way, you’ll also be able to make new travelling companions, thanks to the train carriages inter-connecting design, which frees passengers to move between carriages and our to the open-air observation area without spilling their pisco sour.

In addition, each seat on the new train will feature USB ports for smart charging and, come this summer, downloadable GPS activated maps, which you can study over a light snack and an organic juice made from fruit and vegetables harvested from the Sacred Valley.

However, if you still consider this slumming it, you might prefer to try the recently upgraded Inca Rail First Class fleet, which recently received new custom-designed carriages fit for an Incan king. Operating four times a day, the First Class train seats up to 60 passengers in two dining carriages, at the end of which is a luxurious bar car, which offers live music and an outdoor observation balcony.
Passengers dine at tables with comfortable leather chairs and enjoy a gourmet menu prepared using Andean ingredients including trout, quinoa, potato, and gold berry, accompanied by a selection of South American wines.

The First Class service operates a once a day round trip between Poroy (the station for departures from Cusco), Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu, and once a day round trip between Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu. Inca Rail also operates the Voyager service between Ollantaytambo and the lost city departing five times a day from each location.
