Kick the year off in style with Macaloney’s Caledonian Distillery’s inaugural single malt whisky, a Canadian spirit in three distinctive expressions.
When we think of Canadian whisky, we tend to think of rye whiskies, for which the country has made a name for itself. However, dig a little deeper and you’ll quickly see the growth in popularity of Canadian-made, Scotch-styled whiskies from boutique producers like Victoria’s award-winning Macaloney’s Caledonian Distillery.
Despite being one of the largest craft distillers in North America, Macaloney’s will only be releasing 1,276 bottles of its Glenloy, a classic styled single malt matured in ex-bourbon, sherry and red wine casks. In addition, the distillery will be releasing two takes on its Invermallie single malt, one expression matured in ex-bourbon and limited to 171 bottles, and the other, a Portuguese re-charred red wine barrique expression, limited to 374 bottles.
All three spirits are naturally coloured and non-chill filtered, and are presented in numbered and signed bottles with bespoke etching depicting life on Victoria Island, offering collectors an intriguing new world take on classic whisky styles.

Macaloney’s Caledonian Distillery began production in 2016, under the direction of ex-DIAGEO Scottish Master Distiller Mike Nicolson, the legendary Scotsman Dr. Jim Swan (‘the Einstein of Whisky’), and founder-whisky maker Dr. Graeme Macaloney. The distillery’s spirits were named World’s Best New Make and Best Canadian Single Cask Single Malt at the 2020 World Whiskies Awards, so you know you’re in for something rather special.
However, like the best things in life, you’re going to need to be quick.
