Leica sees red with the Leica M Type 262, the latest limited-edition release of the brand’s iconic Leica M camera system.
Red. It’s the colour of passion, of love, of desire. It’s also the bold colour theme for Leica’s newest limited edition camera, the Leica M (Type 262) ‘red anodized finish’. Yes, the Germans could have come up with a name that danced a little more off the tongue, but the result is nothing to be tut-tutted over.

The top plate and the baseplate of this eye-catching take on the Leica M (Typ 262) are machined from solid aluminium and anodized in red, lending the camera a unique look that perfectly matches the colour of another special edition, the Leica Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH lens released in 2016.
Limited to just 100 pieces, the technical specifications of the special edition ‘red’ camera are identical to those of the serial production model of the Leica M (Typ 262). With its concentration on the functions essential for photography and an intuitive handling concept, the Leica M (Typ 262) isn’t a camera for every shooter.
