If you have a hankering for a modern take on Singaporean hawker cuisine, Jom has opened in Hong Kong’s Wan Chai.
While Hong Kong has its hawker centres (and some aren’t bad at all), we’re sure you’ll agree that they pale in comparison to those eclectic communal food courts of the Lion City, where cultures and traditions have been bound over centuries and are presented in a spectacular array of dishes.
Promising to deliver a modern take on Singaporean hawker cuisine, Jom – named for the Malay word for “let’s go” – takes its inspiration from the childhood meals of founder Jordan Lee.
The menu is made up of sharing bites, noodle dishes and mains, as well as authentic takes on classic deserts, each recreated using innovative cooking methods.

Highlights include crowd-pleasers like Chilli Crab, Nasi Lemak, and Hainan Chicken Rice, as well as Singapore-style laksa made from scratch, all of which are matched with a selection of almost 30 homemade sambas (don’t worry, the signature chilli paste is also available to take home).
