Hublot has collaborated with its new brand ambassador, Nicky Jam, to create three eye-catching timepieces for the season ahead.
You know Nicky Jam – if you weren’t singing along to his chart-topping track Live it Up during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, you were probably one of the 1.4 billion YouTube viewers who watched his new single X (Equis). Now you can wear his creativity on your wrist with the new Hublot Big Bang Meca-10 Nicky Jam.
The new model, which comes in three different versions based on the famous Big Bang, the Swiss brand’s icon, feature a 45-mm diameter and are powered by the HUB1201 manufacture calibre, the innovative construction of which is revealed on the timepiece’s dial. For the first time, the Big Bang is skeletonised and gold-plated in a rather pimptastic rendition of the brand’s most iconic model.
The case and bezel of the first version are made of Hublot’s famous black ceramic. As on the two other versions, its dial displays the singer’s logo, composed of his initials NJ, at 12 o’clock. On its back, his hand-written signature is affixed on the glass enabling the watch movement to be seen.
The second is adorned with a warm colour dear to Nicky Jam’s heart: gold. The case, bezel and crown are machined out of King Gold, an alloy of gold, copper and platinum developed by Hublot. It is set with semi-precious stones – yellow sapphires, orange sapphires and tsavorites – in the same three colours as the video for the “X (Equis)” track.
The third version has its case in King Gold, while its flange, middle, the NJ logo and its indexes are set with baguette-cut diamonds, which can also be found on the clasp of its strap. In all, no fewer than 307 diamonds, with a weight of 16.9 carats, adorn each piece.
All three watches are delivered with a choice of strap in black Alcantara or in alligator dyed in red, yellow and green.
