Inspired by the mantra ‘eating is happiness’ Gustaci, Hong Kong’s newest pizza parlour, promises food that will lift your spirits.
Most guys love pizza – after all, even when it’s bad it’s still pretty good – and as one so-so year moves over and another begins, we could all do with a dose of positive, cheese-coated vibes. Fortunately, joining the city’s ranks of pizza joints, is Gustaci, which has opened at PMQ in the heart of Soho.

Following the belief of angiare e felicità or that eating is happiness, Gustaci, or ‘taste‘, is the creation of Italians Claudio and Boroka Cimmino, and celebrates the diversity of authentic Italian fare, including authentic Neapolitan pizza.

Gustaci’s kitchen is headed by Neapolitan executive chef Angelo, who has spent his entire culinary career perfecting the art of pizza making and seeks to elevate Hong Kong’s competitive ‘pizzascape’ to all-new heights through the use of the freshest Italian ingredients. The new restaurant serves ten pizza types – including the signature Pizza Margherita, named in honour of Margherita of Savoy, Queen consort of Italy – with all pizza dough naturally leavened for 24-26 hours and cooked in a Neapolis electric deck oven by Moretti Forni.

Other menu highlights include Pasta Nerano, fragrant zucchini pasta with zesty provolone from the Amalfi Coast; Montanarine, puffed airy pizza balls with characteristic toppings; and Sfogliatella, seashell shaped Neapolitan pastry filled with rich ricotta.

While you wait for your pizza, be sure to order an Aperitivo from Gustaci’s cocktail list, and finish your meal with real Italian gelato, a timeless dessert. If the ice cream doesn’t lift those New Year spirits, we’re sure the cocktails will.
