Italy’s iconic prancing horse brand creates the next chapter in its automotive history with the release of the Ferrari Portofino M.
When Ferrari released the Portofino in 2017, the world-famous auto brand created an entry-level convertible GT that seamlessly weaved the brand’s reputation for elegance and performance into a car that was moderately priced, opening up new markets in Asia for the Italian classic. Now, hot on the heels of the new Roma, Ferrari has updated its Portofino, adding the M (Modificata) designation, as well as a redesigned drive train, a brand-new eight-speed gearbox, and a five-position Manettino that includes a Race mode, a first for a Maranello GT spider.

As a consequence of these and many other new features, the Portofino M guarantees a completely unprecedented combination of authentic GT performance, driving pleasure, agility, and exceptional versatility in everyday driving contexts.
The Portofino M’s 3855 cc engine, which belongs to the V8 turbo family voted “International Engine of the Year” on four consecutive occasions, has been optimised to unleash 620 cv at 7,500 rpm – 20 cv more than the original Ferrari Portofino. A completely redesigned eight-speed gearbox also replaces the previous seven-speed version, the first eight-speed to be installed on an open-top Ferrari.

The introduction of the five-position Manettino further enhances the Ferrari Portofino’s already superb handling and traction through the addition of the Race mode, which, supported by the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer, focuses on maximising driving pleasure and fun behind the wheel.
The innovation isn’t limited to what’s under the bonnet. Both the front of the car and the bumpers are now sportier and more aggressive, while new interior additions include ADAS, and ventilated and heated seats. The Ferrari Portofino M thus retains its predecessor’s twin soul and is the only car on the market that can rightfully be described as an authentic coupé with its top closed and a genuine spider when it is open, a feat that’s achieved by a Retractable Hard Top (RHT), the signature feature of all the Prancing Horse’s convertibles.
So pop the top and make the most of the lingering summer month.
