London luxury brand Ettinger has looked to the past with its newest collection of chic leather goods.
Sometimes we need to look back if we’re to strive forward. That’s precisely what leather gurus Ettinger has done with its new Capra Collection, which is crafted in goat leather, a popular option in the good old 1930s, which the brand was first established by Gerry Ettinger.
From his boutique on Vigo Street, just off London’s Regent Street, Ettinger sold luxury leather goods produced by German manufacturer Herion to the likes of Harrods, Fortnum & Mason, and Asprey.

These were the blissful days before our disposable culture took over, when many day-to-day goods were made in leather, from correspondence cases, date stamps and desk tidies, to folding photo frames, wet packs (sponge bags), bins and umbrella stands, as well as the more-predictable wallets and luggage we know of today.
Ettinger sourced his goat leather from a highly-skilled tannery in Southwest France, and the new collection has been crafted from leather from the same outfit, over half a century later.

The new line up combines the best of Ettinger’s heritage and tradition with modern design and colour, creating a harmony of old and new. The collection is available in deep brown, white and marine blue, and includes business card holders, mini, billfold and coat wallets, key fobs and key wallets, and chic portfolios.
