Beer’s come a long way, and Kronenbourg 1664 is ready to recognise that.
Banking on the fact that savvy gents have a strong appreciation for fine beer and finer food, Kronenbourg 1664 and Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau 2019 have teamed up to offer a refined beer-pairing dinner experience at one-Michelin starred French restaurant Épure. The dinner will showcase the wealth of possibilities for beer pairings in a world where wines are the norm.
Called #DinnerInBlue, the pairing is an elegant six-course meal that puts two elegant Kronenbourg 1664 products with chef Nicolas Boutin’s sophisticated French plates.

Starting on a lighter note, the meal begins with an amuse bouche and three seafood courses paired with a pint of Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc. The beer’s citrus profile works well with the dishes that include Brittany blue lobster, a starter of Noirmoutier Island potatoes served in a beef consommé and garnished with onion puree and salmon roe, and a fish course featuring John Dory.
Heading into the heavier second half of the menu, diners switch to the richer, bolder Kronenbourg 1664 Lager. The beer’s aromas and bitterness are a solid complement to the veal cheek meat course, and the artisan cheese and rice-pudding-and-sorbet gariguette strawberry dessert.
The #DinnerInBlue menu is available at Épure through June 30, 2019 and is priced at HK$1,616 (US$206) per person.
