If you’re a fan of the wines of Western Australia, Como The Treasury in Perth has launched a new wine-laced experience that combines accommodation with an exhilarating helicopter experience to the region’s acclaimed Margaret River.
Designed in partnership with Millbrook Winery for true oenophiles, the Como The Treasury experience starts in the early morning, with a helicopter tour over Perth that takes in the iconic vistas of the Swan River and Cottesloe Beach.
The Millbrook estate is surrounded by the forests of Jarrahdale, with undulating hills and large lakes, making it feel a world away from the bustle of Perth’s city centre. Here, guests will experience a wine blending session — with their own blended wine to take home — as well as a tour of the grounds, discovering what it takes to run one of the largest vineyards in Western Australia.
The Millbrook restaurant, where lunch is served, has sweeping views of the surrounding Jarrah forest. Here, a meal will be prepared by head chef Guy Jeffreys, named 2017 Chef of the Year by the West Australian Good Food Guide. Jeffreys’ innovative menu changes seasonally, with much of the cuisine sourced from the winery’s own garden, with over 100 varieties of hand-grown heirloom vegetables, as well as stone fruit, citrus, figs, apples, herbs, free-range eggs, olives, and honey sourced from the estate.
The food is always designed to complement Millbrook’s award-winning vintages, which are expertly paired with the meal.
