Featuring top local brewers, the Tong Chong Street Market’s Beer Festival returns with a thrilling beer playground.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It may be the end of summer but that doesn’t mean a good craft beer doesn’t hit the spot at the end of a long day, a celebrating the local brewing scene, the Tong Chong Street Market<\/a>‘s Beer Festival is just around the corner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Running from 12-14 October, Taikoo Place celebrates the best of Hong Kong ‘F&Beer’ with an exciting line-up of 15 local beer brewers, who will present more than 70 beer flavours \u2013 including an exclusive collaboration with upcycling start-up BREER<\/a> \u2013 all crafted with a focus on local produce, <\/strong>innovation and sustainability by homegrown brewers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tong Chong Street Market (TCSM) is a city favourite for gourmet food, eco-conscious eating, local craftsmanship and creative innovation, and this extraordinary event invites all F&Beer lovers to embark on a beer tasting journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the enticing four hours of free-flow beer<\/a> and a selection of mouthwatering dishes, visitors can dive into the excitement of the festival’s beer-tastic playground nestled in the new Taikoo Garden at Taikoo Place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlights of the space include larger-than-life beer pong, pickleball (the world\u2019s fastest-growing sport soon overtaking tennis!), tube table tennis \u2013 a fun twist to a classic sport challenging those who thought they knew table tennis \u2013 and cornhole, the beloved social tossing game said to soon land a shot at the Olympics, amongst other pulse pounding games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Central to this year\u2019s festival is the exclusive collaboration with BREER, which is shaking up the beer scene by using surplus bread from local bakeries instead of barley to craft its unique brews. The eco-friendly brewery also prints labels with soy-based ink and sends spent grain to Hong Kong farms for use as animal feed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the true highlight lies in the one-of-a-kind Pandan Milkshake IPA created exclusively for the festival. This exceptional brew embodies the essence of sustainability as the pandan used in its production was directly harvested from Taikoo Place\u2019s very own rooftop farm, The Loop at One Island East. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brewers headed to the festival include Young Master Brewery<\/a>, a trailblazer in the Asian craft beer scene that operates the largest craft beer brewhouse in Hong Kong who, in collaboration with fine-dining restaurant Amber<\/a> and Farmhouse Productions<\/a>, a coop of local farmers committed to regenerative farming, has transformed surplus lychee into the delicious Lychee Wild Ale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oktoberfeast 2023, the highlighted beer from Deadman Brewery<\/a>, a local nano-brewery in San Po Kong, is a naturally carbonated brew that captures CO2 produced during fermentation, reducing emissions by 12% compared to forced carbonation, while enhancing foam quality to deliver a thicker, creamier texture and better lacing.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heroes Beer Co<\/a>., a revered local brewer on a mission to shed light on the untold stories of real-life heroes in Hong Kong, will present Kupzzy, a Double Hazy IPA locally brewed in collaboration with influential local indie band Rain in Time; while Carbon Brews<\/a> will offer its exceptional Bright Side, which is also brewed with sustainability in mind, with spent grain recycled and converted to pure energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another highlight is the special collaboration between N.I.P<\/a> x Mezzanine Makers<\/a> with their exclusive Jasmine Tea Gin & Tonic (J&T), which combines fragrant citrus and jasmine tea flavours with Rare Dry Gin and local tonic water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not to be missed are the food vendors this year with their exciting array of culinary delicacies. These include Enso<\/a>, a local izakaya; Wingman<\/a>, known for its flavourful chicken wings flavours; Latin Bites<\/a>, who will offer its mouthwatering “El G\u00fcey” with ox tongue, chile amarillo-infused sour cream, pickled onion, and coriander; Medanlang<\/a>, a culinary gem that brings the vibrant flavours of Indonesia to the Beer Festival with a hearty Mini Grilled Rice with Chicken Rendang; and Lobster Boss<\/a> by Johnny Glover of The Butchers Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
