While we typically associate China with tea, Nespresso’s new World Explorations Shanghai Lungo arrives just in time for Chinese New Year.
As many of us return to the office to kick start a new year – a better year we’re hoping – many will be returning to the coffee machine in search of a boost into the Year of the Ox. Big, warming mugs of instant, doused with long-life milk from the back of the fridge is all well and good when you’re in the midst of a mid-pandemic hibernation, but back in the office you’ll need something that caresses the taste buds and slaps the nerve endings into action.
Fortunately, the newest capsule addition from Nespresso has you covered. World Explorations Shanghai Lungo, the brand’s ode to Chinese New Year and the latest installment in the World Explorations range, a collection of distinctive Lungo coffees from around the globe, promises to please.
Coffee has been cultivated in China for centuries and in recent years Shanghai has developed one of the most vibrant coffee scenes in the world. Fruity and with fine acidity, the new release is made from a blend of Chinese Arabica beans, which lend a creaminess; Kenyan Arabica, with sweet red fruit notes; and Indonesian beans that deliver a touch of wood spice.
Nespresso has also whipped up some suggested coffee recipes for Chinese New Year celebrations. Add black sugar syrup, oat milk, and ginger to a caster sugar-rimmed mug of Nespresso Ispirazione Venezia to create the House With Treasures; or top a glass of ice, white peach syrup, and orange juice with a shot of the new World Explorations Shanghai Lungo to create the Everything Goes Well recipe.
Here’s hoping everything does in 2021.
