Opening in January, The Anam Mui Ne just might be the luxurious southern Vietnam escape you deserve.
If you’ve not visited southern Vietnam yet, you’re doing yourself a disservice. We’re not talking about Saigon – although that city can be a fun town – but the country’s idyllic palm tree-wreathed coast, home to some of the best beaches in Indochina. It’s also where The Anam Mui Ne is set to open, just in time for Chinese New Year’s forays.

Boasting just 127 elegant rooms and suites and a sublime design inspired by Vietnam’s Indochine era, this boutique hideaway will open in January on a paradiscial stretch of sand just outside the popular beach town of Mui Ne, a few hours’ drive from Ho Chi Minh City and the windsurfing mecca of Southeast Asia. Here, you room will boast a claw-footed bath, leather-bound tables and custom furniture, including a bed so big you’ll need to be a sprinter to catch your lady love (if you splurge for a suite you’ll even have a private pool).
In addition, you’ll have access to one of southern Vietnam’s best beaches, while the new resort is also home to beachside restaurant Lang Viet, as well as the stylish Saigon Bar and all-day grill The Indochine. Oh, there’s also a five treatment room spa, a water sports centre, and a pair of spacious swimming pools – one freshwater and one saltwater – in case the ocean isn’t your thing.

You’ll also be able to breath easy from a sustainability perspective. The resort will open with a ban on single-use plastics and has implemented an array of measures to reduce its carbon footprint with solar power and locally sourced ingredients. Its water filtration plant supplies drinking water in recycled glass bottles, and laundry water is recycled to water the gardens. Straws, bags and bathroom amenities are biodegradable. The resort’s eco-friendly key cards are also made from wood that’s been sourced from sustainably managed forests.
