TAG Heuer introduces striking novelties for its popular Golf Edition watch, with Drive Shot Tracking and a ball marker built into the strap.
If you’re always looking for a little edge on the fairways, you’ll be familiar with TAG Heuer’s Connected smartwatches, which were first introduced in 2018. The collection has defined itself with its golf watches, stylish timepieces that are designed for real-time golfing info. Now, TAG Heuer has launched a new version of its hugely popular golf watch, the TAG Heuer Connected Watch Calibre E4 – Golf Edition, with technical improvements including a new automated shot-tracker, redesigned golf software and a magnetic ball marker built into the strap.

The new innovations come hot on the heels of the release of the brand’s newest generation of its Connected watch, the TAG Heuer Calibre E4, which comes in two new models in 42mm and 45mm, both of which are built to deliver ultimate elegance and sporting performance, and which offer access to TAG Heuer’s ever-growing ecosystem of exclusive sports activities, wellness apps and elegant watch faces.
The new watch features a striking look equally at home on the golf course and in everyday life. The TAG Heuer Connected Watch Calibre E4 – Golf Edition also offers a redesigned interface to make it easier to control the watch’s golf functions, including high-resolution 2D maps showing hazards and distances on more than 40,000 golf courses around the world. It allows wearers to improve their game, no matter what level of player they are.
Professional golfer and TAG Heuer ambassador Tommy Fleetwood will wear the new watch, which also offers exclusive golf-themed watch faces only available on the TAG Heuer Connected Watch Calibre E4 – Golf Edition
The new TAG Heuer Connected Watch Calibre E4 – Golf Edition has a redesigned buckle with a built-in magnetic ball marker. Ball markers are a must-have for putting, so having one incorporated into the watch buckle means one less thing for golfers to carry.
The marker is designed to slide from the wrist easily and is emblazoned with a distinctive TAG Heuer logo in bright, contrasting colours to improve visibility. The logo stands out physically from the buckle to improve grip. The marker can be popped out simply in one movement and reattached with similar ease. There is also a spare ball marker provided in the case.

The new watch automatically detects swings to allow users to track their performance in the app without having to activate the function by hand. The watch automatically detects when the wearer performs a swing on the tee area, using the Connected Watch’s accelerometer and gyroscope, and begins tracking the shot. It concludes when the watch identifies the swing to hit a second stroke. It means golfers don’t have to remember to track their drive, ensuring that the data is captured automatically. For the time being this function is limited to tracking the first shot on each hole.
The automatic shot tracking also enhances existing features of the watch, such as the Driving Range feature, by providing the app with more data (as it’s activated automatically). The Driving Range feature offers a ‘heat map’ for every hole, which shows where shots landed on previous rounds. Over time, this allows golfers an overview of the strategies which work for them, helping them to pick the perfect club and the perfect route to each hole.

In addition, the automatic shot detection ensures users also have more information on the performance of each of their clubs, with the app automatically recording accuracy and distance for every tracked shot. This means that the app’s trademark (and highly popular) club recommendations are more precise and information-packed than ever before.
Last but not least, a new feature that uses 3D maps technology generates a beautiful video green monkeys can share with their friends.
Although that might depend on your score.
