Starbucks reinvents itself with the opening in Hong Kong of its new flagship, complete with a dedicated coffee-infused cocktail bar.
You go to a coffee shop for your java hit, a tea shop for your leaf needs (at least some of them), and a bar for cocktails, right? Apparently not anymore. Starbucks opens its new Hong Kong flagship today, and there’s something for every thirsty soul.

Not only will the new 5,500sqft flagship in Causeway Bay be the new home of coffee in the Fragrant Harbour, with six exclusive handcrafted coffee beverages, including Cold Brew Malts, Classic Affogatos, and Nitro Cold Brew Floats, served from a marble coffee bar in deep green, but the venue will also offer an interactive journey through coffee brewing methods including the coffee press, Chemex and Black Eagle espresso machine.
The flagship store is also home to the city’s first Starbucks Teavana Bar, which features five Hong Kong-exclusive tea beverages among the 15 new menu items. The store’s Fruit Tea Garden combines Teavana tea with fresh fruit to create summer coolers like the Sparkling Virgin Tea Mojito, and sparkling green tea with fresh mint.

Perhaps most excitingly perhaps is the arrival of the Starbucks Mixology Bar, where lads with a thirst can order a coffee-infused craft beer like the impressive Sparkling Kenya IPA made with Kenyan cold-brewed coffee, or get a needed pick me up in the form of a signature Espresso Martini. It’s hoped the coffee shop will extend its liquor-laced libations to include a host of innovative cocktails, perfect for after-hours catch-ups.
