Soneva and Alexa Private Cruises have put their heads together and created your next Maldives vacation. You’re welcome.
Planning for a great post-Covid escape? How about a vacation that combines luxury resorts and a chance to sail the Indian Ocean? In a new collaboration between terra firma resorts brand Soneva and luxury charter specialists Alexa Private Cruises, you can embrace your new-found freedom in true luxury and, in the spirit of social distancing, you can opt to leave everyone else behind.

The Alexa J is a breathtaking single cabin yacht that combines a sense of old-world charm with all the modern comforts. With just one VIP master cabin (ok, there’s room for a couple of kids down in steerage) you’ll have the ultimate adventure at sea, just you, someone special, and a doting crew of six that includes a dive instructor, a masseuse, and a chef that will take guests on a journey through a myriad of Asian flavours.

The yacht makes up in elegance what it lacks in guest rooms. On the upper deck, there is a rooftop lounge, dining area, and yoga and meditation space. The main deck houses the Master Bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet, living room, the bridge, and open-air dining and lounge area, while on the lower deck are a playroom cabin (where the children can sleep) with an en-suite bathroom, the galley, engine room and crew quarters.
But what’s better than having your own yacht? How about combining data at sea with nights perched over it? The new collaboration between resort brand and yacht masters means guests can choose from a series of itineraries that split time on land and on the water. For example, the rather leisurely 21-day journey combines a yacht cruise with stays at Soneva Jani (below) and Soneva Fushi, two of the Maldives’ most popular resorts.

During your adventure you’ll have the chance to be pampered into submission at resort spas, enjoy private sandbank dinners under the stars, hike the tropical forests of Goidhoo, snorkel on the famed Rose Garden coral reefs, scuba dive in the Baa Atoll, or try your hand at sustainable big game fishing. Return to your resort for decadent private dinners, or to the yacht in time for a Cinema Paradiso experience on the top deck.
We’re pretty sure that if there’s a way to exorcisethe demons of 2020, this is it.
