Tap into your inner pirate with Prana by Atzaro, the world’s largest charter Phinisi schooner, plying Indonesian waters now.
There were times – recent times – when parts of the Indonesian archipelago were no-go zones for commercial shipping, due to pirates. That made mapping and conquering the islands of Indonesia particularly challenging for the likes of the Dutch and the British. The region has a rich and often bloody history of both piracy and exploration, and the Spice Islands were especially famed for the quality of their boat builders and sailmakers. Now it’s your turn to set sail in search of new horizons.
Prana by Atzaro, the world’s largest phinisi charter yacht, has launched in eastern Indonesia, offering would-be explorers creature comforts and the means to delve into this untouched paradise. At just over 55-metres in length, this luxurious, hand-built yacht follows the lines of a traditional Indonesian schooner and is constructed entirely from ironwood and teak, using timeless boat-building techniques.
Operated by Ibiza’s Atzaro Group, which owns one of the Spanish island’s leading luxury spa hotels, the Prana boasts nine elegant suites, each with a private ensuite, soundproofing, and lavish textiles. Four spacious decks with king-size daybeds offer abundant places to retreat and relax. A yoga deck doubles as an open-air cinema, while Prana’s main deck has inside and outside living, a luxury spa, and a water sports deck.
A crew of 18 will ensure guests want for nothing as they cruise some of the world’s most beautiful heritage sites, including Komodo National Park, and the prehistoric caves and primordial tribes on the 1,500 islands that make up Raja Ampat. Voyages crisscross the Coral Triangle, famed for its fantastic reefs and plethora of species as well as some of the most remote and untouched islands on earth.
