Planning date night and looking to get the credit for a world-class meal without having to cook? Hue’s Chef Box at Home will save the day.
We’re assuming that you’re doing a bit more entertaining at home these days, what with dining restrictions in Hong Kong and the global pandemic making crowded places no-go zones. And we’re guessing that such entertaining (at least at the beginning of the night) might be a little new for you. If you don’t have time to slave over the stove or to make a trip to Cordon Bleu, help might be at hand.

Hue, the dynamic modern Australian restaurant perched on Victoria Harbour in Tsim Sha Tsui, has created the Chef Box at Home, which includes all the components of a world-class meal, ready for your enthusiastic participation.
Hue’ executive chef Anthony Hammel a protege of celebrity chef Mark Best, will guide you – via video – through the preparation and plating of full Hue meal, complete with entree, main and dessert. Hammel will guide you through the preparation, reheating, and plating of Hamachi sashimi with cucumber, apple, kombu and ginger oil; pressed yellow chicken with truffle mousse, potato terrine, and leek and mushroom sauce; and cherry friand with white chocolate ganache and elderflower jelly.

The takeaway box, which comes with freshly baked rolls with house-smoked New Zealand butter, and a side salad of mixed baby gem and mustard dressing, is available for pick up or delivery and is priced at HK380 per person and is available until the end of March (although they’ll probably extend it).
And if you were to hide said box, put away the tablet, and as your guests arrive claim sole credit for this creation, we’re sure the good chef would understand.
Because we’re all in this together.
