Influenced by time and the infinite reach of the universe, Rolls-Royce has created the Phantom Tempus Collection.
It’s been almost one hundred years since the British luxury coach builder launched its first Phantom and since then the range has always included the marque’s most extravagant (and sizeable) sedans, cars that have an incredible sense of presence and luxury, no matter where you encounter them. And just when you thought things couldn’t get better, Rolls-Royce has given its iconic limousine a new bespoke treatment inspired by the heavens.

With a design concept inspired by time, astronomical phenomena and the infinite reaches of the universe, the new Phantom Tempus Collection includes just 20 automobiles, each featuring a new bespoke paint finish in Kairos Blue, which incorporates mica flakes that produce a subtle sparkling effect, mimicking stars in the night sky.
That starry starry night effect continues inside, with a completely reimagined Starlight Headliner – now dubbed a Pulsar Headliner – that combines fibre-optic lighting and intricate bespoke embroidery.
Another eye-catching addition is the ‘Frozen Flow of Time’ Gallery, a unique artwork housed in the fascia, from which the clock is deliberately omitted to signify freedom from time and its limitations. A single billet of aluminium is milled to form 100 individually contoured columns, representing the 100-million-year period of a rotational spin of a pulsar star. Each column is black-anodised and hand-polished to reflect the light. As the eye travels along it, the whole structure, though entirely solid, appears to ripple and flex.

Additional touches in the Phantom Tempus Collection cars include door linings that boast hundreds of illuminated perforations that form swirling, twisting patterns; and a Spirit of Ecstasy that can be personalised with a significant date and location of the owner’s choosing, while a hand-painted Tempus Champagne Chest, complete with thermal flasks for bottle chilling and four hand-blown crystal flutes, accompanies each car.
In response to continuing travel restrictions and limitations on face-to-face interactions in dealerships, Rolls-Royce has created a Virtual Reality presentation for Phantom Tempus, accessible via the Google Cardboard app. Providing patrons with a fully immersive, 360-degree walkaround of the Collection’s interior and exterior, clients are able to relish Phantom Tempus’ extraordinary presence at a time to suit them, wherever they are in the world.
