A dynamic new timepiece celebrates the collaborative efforts of two Swiss performance brands – Omega and Alinghi.
We’re all about forging alliances, meeting of minds, the power of the collective. One can be a force for good but two can change the world – or at least create something rather nice for your wrist.
The dynamic partnership between Omega and Swiss yacht racing team Alinghi is all about precision and performance – which comes in handy when heats of the America’s Cup can come down to tenths of a second between victory and ‘also placed’. Now the brands have collaborated on the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon ALINGHI, an eye-catching new timepiece.
Boasting a Calibre 1865 movement, known for its ultra-thin and lightweight design, the new Speedmaster takes its inspiration from Alinghi’s new TF35 racing catamaran. Using laser ablation, the mainplate and barrel bridge have been given a honeycomb effect, similar to the interior of the vessel’s carbon hull.
The same laser ablation technology has then been employed to decorate all other bridges with a black carbon pattern, while the timepiece’s colour scheme matches the Alinghi logo in black and red and extends to the perforated black and red rubber strap, as well as the 44.25 mm case in black zirconium oxide ceramic.

Along with a tachymeter scale in Super-LumiNova, the outward design is also notable for the Alinghi logo on the stop/start pusher, which has been created in red varnish.
