Minimalist Danish watch brand Nordgreen creates sublime timepieces that help bolster communities and protect the environment.
Despite its origins in American art in the 1960s and 1970s, no one does minimalism quite like the Scandinavians. In fact, Scandinavian Minimalism, with its clean lines and inherent calmness, is its own thing, a softer, more approachable rendition of the American movement, and one that has helped drive Nordic design.
Instilling the clarity and austerity of Scandinavian Minimalism to perfection, Danish watchmaker Nordgreen is defined by sustainable practices (there’s a hint in the name) and aesthetically pleasing yet functional timepieces, many of which have been created by award-winning Chief Designer Jakob Wagner, who cut his teeth at the likes of Cappellini and Bang & Olufsen.
Those minimalist principles lend themselves to Nordgreen’s timepieces beautifully, with the brand’s collection ranging from the Red Dot award-winning Pioneer range in stainless steel through to the supremely elegant Native series.

They even offer personal video consultations and a watch-making service that allows likely lads the chance to build their own timepiece, from dial design to strap to colour scheme.
Even better, the brand’s ethos is firmly planted in nature and our responsibility towards it; in addition to sustainable production, which includes carbon offsetting of the company’s Copenhagen headquarters, and the use of vegan leather and FSC-certified packaging, the company’s Giving Back programme supports health, educational and environmental initiatives, including rainforest protection and clean water management.
