Combining designs by celebrated architect Piero Lissoni with bold new dining venues and inspired guest rooms, The Middle House might just become your new home-away-from-home in Shanghai.
In a city populated by towering cookie-cutter hotels, Shanghai’s newest luxury destination, The Middle House, located on Nanjing Road West, is a breath of fresh air in the Pearl of the Orient.
Channelling the spirit of modern-day Shanghai, The Middle House boasts just 111 modern studios, suites and – if you feel like splurging – an oh-so-sexy two-bedroom Penthouse with private terraces and it’s own event space.
The hotel has been designed by Milan’s acclaimed architect Piero Lissoni, who tapped into the city’s rich heritage to create a space that is both anchored by and transcending eras.
With a minimalist design persona that’s more modern Manhattan than sleek Scandinavian, the hotel is set to become an urban retreat for the city’s savvy set.
Be sure to leave time for a pisco sour in the new outlet of Hong Kong’s culinary favourite Café Gray Deluxe; for the Italian cuisine of chef Stefano Pace at Frasca; or the inspired Chinese dishes of chef Tony Ye at Sui Tang Li, before working up a sweat in the 24-hour fitness centre and taking a soak at the Mi Xun Spa.
