Built to last, the new Leica SL2-S promises a featured-packed photographic proposition for the year ahead.
While we love the fact that digital cameras are getting smaller and lighter, it does make them more susceptible to life’s life tumbles. There’s little point in buying a state-of-the-art shooter only to spend thousands sending it back for repairs every time life got a little crazy. Fortunately, the newest DSLR from Leica features an all-metal body that’s made to keep up with your energetic lifestyle.
Promising market-leading stills and movies, the new Leica SL2-S boasts a new, 24-megapixel BSI-CMOS sensor and two separate recording modes for photos and videos, offering likely lads the best of both worlds. Expanding the brand’s multi-faceted SL-System with a versatile full-frame camera that serves as an alternative to the Leica SL2, the SL2-S is perfect for shooters looking to capture every moment, thanks to continuous shooting rates of up to 25 frames per second at full resolution, and 10-bit 4K video recordings with no video length limits.
All this performance is possible thanks to the camera’s Maestro-III processor as well as a generous, 4-gigabyte buffer memory. Your images will also be crystal clear thanks to the Leica SL2-S’s high-resolution Leica EyeRes viewfinder and suspended image sensor, which provides highly-efficient, multi-axis image stabilisation in connection with any Leica lens. If detail is your game, the new DSLR also boasts sensor-shift technology that facilitates multishot capturing, combining eight shots into one image with a fourfold resolution of 96 megapixels.
In addition, high sensitivity of up to ISO 100,000, combined with the fast autofocus and in-body image stabilisation, enables photographers to capture excellent images in almost all types of light.
The Leica SL2-S is also the first SL model to enable direct tethered shooting with Capture One 21 software, allowing users to control their camera via a computer. The SL2-S can also be tethered to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic, and a time-limited Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan is included with the camera.
Finally, the SL2-S all-metal camera features a dust and water protection rating of IP54, do you know that wherever you’re shooting, this pint-sized system will roll with the punches.
