Located in trendy Pererenan, just minutes from some of the island’s best surf breaks and the vibrant dining scene of Canggu, the new boutique hotel is dedicated to preserving the legacy of famed French love priestess and antique collector Mademoiselle Henriette Reboul, her special connection with Bali, and her true love, the Dutch Governor of West Indies in the 1940s.
Opening in August, La Reserve 1785 started life as Mademoiselle Henriette Reboul’s private residence, a place where she would host numerous friends and celebrities. Under the magic wand of French Architects Laure Juhen and Louis Mariotti, the home took on a new lease of life as they filled it with pieces collected during their travels.

Today, the home is a seductive private enclave envisioned by architect Laure Juhen and renowned landscape architect John Pettigrew, complete with 200 years old teak parquet floors, original French book editions from the XVII century, handpicked artefacts and superb modern furniture.
Accommodation is in one of 13 suites housed in five pavilions. When you’re not hitting the breaks or the bars of Canggu, you can enjoy a traditional Balinese massage at the hotel’s Secret Spa, take a dip in the 30-metre swimming pool, grab a buggy down to the La Brisa beach club, or sample a French gourmet dinner at Le Café Rouge by the pool.
We’re sure the good Mademoiselle would approve.
