If you’re a bit of a ginophile you’re in for a treat, with Ki No Bi Go Kyoto Dry Gin’s new limited-edition anniversary release.
Japan’s craft distilling scene has never been more active or more fascinating, especially when it comes to the superb gins coming out of the land of the Rising Sun. Celebrating its 5th anniversary, The Kyoto Distillery has created Go, a limited-edition release of its acclaimed Ki No Bi Go gin.

For the new Go anniversary release, the distillery has tweaked its mainstay spirit with a cast strength bottling at 50% ABV that better reflects the botanicals’ quality. Go uses the same botanicals as Ki No Bi, including yuzu, ginger, gyokuro tea from Uji. However, Go sees hinoki replaced with Japanese red pine, or akamatsu, as its base note.
Look out for sweet, complex fruit on the nose followed by peppery sansho, resinous Akamatsu, and rich citrus on the palate, and touches of ginger, lemon, and juniper on the finish.

You’ll be able to find Go at five Hong Kong cocktail bars – Bar de Luxe, Bar Buonasera FUMI, Safe-Bubble & Malt, and Ping Pong – each of which will produce a signature cocktail using the small-batch gin.
