It’s International James Bond Day tomorrow and to mark the occasion we’ve looked at the past Bonds and Bond girls to see which proved easiest on the eyes.
Everyone has their favourite, from Connery to Craig, and from Pussy Galore to Honey Rider, and these positions can lead to some of the most heated debates to come out of the big screen. Which James Bond was most handsome, and which Bond girl was the most seductive? The results might surprise you.

Using the timeless Golden Ratio as a measure of beauty, and a spot of machine learning for good measure, a UK betting site has come up with a series of rankings, both for the Bond that strutted his stuff the best, and the femme fatale that accompanied him on his adventures.
For the study, machine learning techniques were applied to evaluate the facial aesthetics of both James Bond actors and the actresses that played the equally iconic Bond girls, based on balanced facial proportions and the symmetry of specific areas of the face in all of the different Bond films.

Since most of the actors portraying James Bond appeared in multiple Bond movies, it was possible for them to appear on the list on multiple occasions. However, the analysis still determines in which movie they were considered the most attractive.
According to an analysis of Bonds in 25 James Bond films (1962 – 2021), the top five most attractive 007s are:
-
Roger Moore in Live and Let Die (1973)
-
Roger Moore in A View to Kill (1985)
-
Daniel Craig in No Time to Die (2021)
-
Daniel Craig in Spectre (2015)
-
Sean Connery in Dr.No (1962)

These are interesting finds and indicate a true cross-section of Bond appearances, with Connery deemed most handsome at the onset of the franchise (While Casino Royale was Ian Flemming’s first Bond novel, Dr No was the first movie adaption), while actor Daniel Craig only improved with age and experience in the role.
The results were equally spread across the franchise spectrum when it came to the female characters, most of whom were on the side of international peace and prosperity. According to an analysis of 25 James Bond films (1962 – 2021) and 24 (main) Bond girls, the top five most attractive Bond girls are:
-
Léa Seydoux in Spectre (2015)
-
Claudine Auger in Thunderball (1965)
-
Ursula Andress in Dr.No (1962)
-
Denise Richards in The World Is Not Enough (1999)
-
Maryam d’Abo in The Living Daylights (1987)
Of course, everything is subjective – despite Ursula Andress’ almost-masculine, self-reliant and distrustful screen presence in Dr. No, she and her tiny yellow bikini became the Bond girl look for the era, an enduring icon all of its own, while Denise Richards’ rather implausible portrayal of a nuclear scientist could have been nightmarish had it not been for that skimpy sweat-soaked singlet.
Still, the Golden Ratio, it seems, never lies.
