Stress getting you down? Burning that proverbial candle at both ends? These are the top male-centric spa treatments from across Hong Kong.
So you’re feeling the burn, and not in a good way. It’s been a rather stressful year for everyone but instead of drowning their sorrows at the bottom of a martini glass, more and more men are headed to the spa to find solace and respite.
This isn’t limited to Hong Kong; the global wellness scene is seeing more participation by lads looking for everything from sports recovery to detoxification and holistic healing, and savvy spas are following suit, offering male-specific treatments that cater to male demands, from facials that tacking those lovely character lines through to stretching sessions that rid guys of built-up tension. Here are some of our favourite Hong Kong spa treatments for him.

The Mira Spa
You might not know this, but the Mira Spa, located at The Mira Hong Kong in Tsim Sha Tsui, gets more male than female guests. That’s always a good sign. The hotel has teamed up with The Refinery, grooming specialists from merry old London town, to offer some of the city’s best he-centric treatments.
Treat yourself to The Refinery Ultimate Face & Body Treatment, which includes a back cleanse and exfoliation that refreshes the skin, followed by a stress-relieving back massage and therapeutic Ayurvedic scalp massage to pinpoint areas of tension, bringing relief to tired or aching muscles. Finish up with a deep cleansing facial using an exotic blend of the finest essential oils and effective natural botanicals unique to the Refinery range, and you’ll look and feel like a new man.
If you’re a little time-poor, The Refinery Power Lift Facial uses utilising ‘galvanic and micro-current’ to lift facial muscles and tone and hydrate the skin while smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. A final pressure point massage of the neck and shoulder will set you up for a busy week ahead.

Fivelements Habitat
If work and life, in general, has you tight as a tiger, you might want to head to Fivelements Habitat, the wellness company’s city branch, for the Myofacial Release with personal trainer and yogi Nick Chops Hsu.
The Myofascial Release treatment is methodical bodywork focused on resolving chronic tensions for pain relief, healthy posture, open breathing, and more ergonomic movement – so yeah, all good things. Chronic tension can easily develop in the body, as one area of the body compensates for misuse, poor posture, or unhealthy movement patterns, and these blockages can restrict movement, block healthy circulation, and result in pain and injuries. The treatment focuses on skillful deep tissue work to encourage better breathing, with each session tailored to the specific needs of the client.
