Sony ups the wearable sound ante with the arrival of the SRS-NB10 wireless neckband speaker.
The pandemic has seen many of us working from home, which means a reevaluation of the tech we take for granted when we’re at the office. Whether you like to groove while you work or you’re taking conference calls and are looking for clarity and comfort, the new wireless neck speaker from Sony promises to create a soundscape that suits.
Dubbed the SRS-NB10 in keeping with Sony’s less-than-creative naming mantra, the new neck speaker rests on your shoulders and creates a cocoon of clear sound that allows the wearer to ignore the world beyond without having to wear noise-cancelling headphones.
The SRS-NB10 features a full-range speaker unit that is angled upwards so sound is optimised for your ears alone. Passive radiators embedded at the back of the unit boosts the bass to ensure the sound is well-balanced. Even with others in the room, you’ll hear every word clearly at low volumes without distracting those around you.
The SRS-NB10 allows you to have clear audio quality for the calls that matter. Whatever’s going on around you, your voice will always be heard clearly thanks to Precise Voice Pickup Technology. Two high-quality directional (beam-forming) microphones, combined with advanced audio signal processing mean that the SRS-NB10 minimises feedback and echo, whilst delivering crystal clear voice quality to the person, or people, on the call.
You can also easily control the microphone while on conference calls with a simple click of the MIC Mute button and control volume with buttons on the side. You can also connect two devices – say your laptop and your phone – at once with the Multipoint COnnection.
The flexible band on the back helps you find the perfect fit while a battery life of 20-hours means the new splash-proof neck speaker is bound to last longer than you do.
