If you’re looking for a spirit packed with seasonal flavour, you can’t go past Dorothy Parker Rose Petal Gin, the newest release by New York Distilling Co.
Sure, it’s winter now (well, kind of) but before you know it, it will be Spring in Asia and that means we fling off our winter coats and make a beeline for the beach. You’ll want to ensure you’re packing the right ingredients for those seasonal sundowners; gin, with its floral complexity, is a given, and a pink gin is an easy direction in which to go, thanks to the infusion of seasonal flavours, which lend themselves to punches, tall drinks and spiked sangria. But which pink gin to choose?
Dorothy Parker Rose Petal Gin by NY Distilling Co (the company also makes a standard Dorothy Parker gin as well as a navy strength and Netherlands style) is made with fresh pink and red rose petals and crushed elderberries, one of the key botanicals used to make the base spirit. This sadly limited release is packed with flavour, from juniper berries and green cardamom to zesty orange peel and spicy cinnamon bark.
With distinguished accents of elderberry and cherry, this unique gin expression, named for the famed American writer, promises to deliver herbaceous and sweet notes and a creamy, elegant finish to any drink. Try it with good quality tonic and plenty of ice; with soda and a touch of lemon bitters; or as the base for a fruit-laced punch.
