Ever wanted to learn how to make those delectable dim sum dishes at home? Here’s your chance.

Who doesn’t love yum cha? A great social meal and a brilliant hangover cure, the dim sum dishes of the yum cha tradition are as iconic as Hong Kong’s soaring skyline. Now, Ming Court, the Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant at Hong Kong’s Cordis hotel, offers you the chance to become a dumpling dynamo with new cooking classes led by Head Dim Sum chef Tse Sun Fuk.

During the classes, which will run between March and May, you’ll master the art of the scallop dumpling, the beetroot wrap and the vegan-friendly OmniPork bun (look out for a special vegan dim sum class in association with Green Monday on April 22). You’ll also learn how to make classic Ming Court bites like Lava Hawthorn balls with strawberry jam; New Caledonian blue prawn dumplings with bamboo shoots; and egg yolk custard dumplings.

Ming Court

The Ming Court Dim Sum Class is available every Saturday in March, April and May from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm and is priced at HK$488 (US$62) per person. Each guest will also receive a dinner voucher valued at HK$300 (US$38) and a signature Chicken Consommé, Matsutake Mushroom, Bamboo Pith, served in Glass Teapot, for their next visit to Ming Court.

We think your new skills will be very persuasive for potential overnight guests.
